The Emergency Departments of both facilities of the Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital (at Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales and Cockburn Town Medical Centre in Grand Turk) support our acute-care Hospital. The Emergency Department is able to accommodate and treat most levels of acute or chronic, traumatic, or medical emergencies.
We have a dedicated, trained staff, on hand 24 hours per day, with a doctor on site at all times. The department has several general treatment areas as well as a two-bed resuscitation room which is fully-equipped to manage any trauma or medical emergency. There is also on-call access to both Radiology and Laboratory services 24/7.
As non urgent cases may also pass through our department, we are also linked, to the Outpatient Department (OPD) of the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where we refer these patients to the Family Practice Clinic.
